Imperial cities and Sahara desert

After breakfast at your riad/hotel we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world with its world tallest minaret at 210 metres (689 ft). After, we will leave to Rabat, the capital of Morocco where you will see some famous sites before leaving to Fes where you will dine and overnight.

After breakfast at your riad/hotel Fes, you will start exploring the medina which is listed as UNESCO world heritage. Wander through its typical souks and alleys lined with local shops. We will ensure you visit the most famous historical and cultural sites including the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, Al Qaraouine University which was founded in 859, the tanners' quarter with its mosque and the Es-Sahrij medersa, and Attarine museum. After lunch, you will start exploring Carpet Shop, Scarves and local handicrafts.

Today’s journey will starts from your riad/hotel towards the South. We will pass by Ifran, the so called Switzerland of Morocco. It is a beautiful town and ski resort in the Middle Atlas. After, we drive to Azrou and see the Cedar forests where we will stop for photos before driving to Midelt where we will have lunch. Afterwards, continue to Erfoud, the Gate of Sahara Desert situated along the Ziz valley, via Tizi n Talghamt pass, Errachidia, and Aoufous. Arrive at Erfoud famous for its international dates festival in addition to its fossils of different kinds. Dine and overnight in a hotel.

After your breakfast, we drive to Merzouga through Erissani to visit the Souks before continuing to the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Visit the lake situated near Merzouga while you have also the opportunity to visit Nomads living around there for tea. Lunch at an auberge or hotel with a multi options menu. At the evening, you experience a camel ride in the highest dunes in Morocco, where you can see clearly the sun sets. Dine and overnight in an equipped camp in the oasis under millions of stars.

Wake up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes before riding your camels back to your Auberge/hotel for shower and breakfast. Afterwards, leave for Todra Gorges, a canyon in the east of the High Atlas Mountains near Tinghir, with high cliffs up 600m offering a spectacular view. Continue along the Dades valley to Skoura,a beautiful oasis situated 35km east of Ouarzazate and lined with massive palm groves, the town of Skoura is referred to as the “the oasis of One Thousand Kasbahs.” And the most impressive Kasbah is the 17th Century Kasbah of Amerhidil.

After breakfast in Skoura, we will drive to explore Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the most famous Kasbah in Morocco. The Kasbah is a UNESCO world heritage and is a location for Hollywood films. Your guide will lead you to explore this spectacular Berber village and share with you the history of this ancient Kasbah which was once an important point for the caravan between the sahara and Marrakech. After lunch we continue our journey to Marrakech where you will have dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast in your riad/hotel in Marrakech, you will start exploring the city of Marrakech. We will ensure you see the most impressive sites of the city. Sightseeing includes, exploring the medina and stroll along the alleys lined with shops where you will explore different beautiful collection of handcraft including designed Berber carpets and other attractive goods. In addition to Jamaa El Fena square, The Majorelle Garden, El Bahia Palace, and The Koutoubia Mosque and Gardens.

Today is your chance to relax in your traditional riad. But this is not enough because we believe it is also your opportunity to explore the shops and maybe get interested in something to take home as Marrakech is very well rich with different local hand-crafted treasures like Leather goods, necklaces, antique textiles, pillows, slippers, spices, essential oils, scarves, tassels, and beautiful Berber carpets.
